Your claim checklist

If the storm was a while ago, check your policy for how soon damage must be reported, and book the inspection soon.

1. Photograph the damage and note the dateTake dated photos from the ground and, for any leak, from inside. Write down the date of the storm. Never climb onto a damaged roof.
2. Find your policy and deductibleLook up your deductible and whether your policy has a separate wind or hail deductible. That tells you what to expect before you call. Your policy also says how soon damage must be reported.
3. Book a free storm inspectionA Patriot inspector checks the roof, gutters and siding and gives you the 21-Point Roof Inspection Report with photos, with hail hits marked. Storm, hail and wind inspections are free.
4. Decide whether to fileThe report shows what damage is there. Whether to file a claim is your decision. If we do not find storm damage, the report says so.
5. File the claim with your insurerGive them the storm date, your photos and the inspection report. Write down your claim number and every adjuster contact.
6. A Patriot team member meets the adjusterWe meet the adjuster at your home, walk the roof and point out the damage we found. We do not argue with the adjuster, and the coverage decision is the insurer's, not ours.
7. Get the approved work doneOnce the claim is settled, you choose your roof package and we do the work, backed by our written guarantees.
