Denied, or only a repair approved?
When the first decision does not match the damage on your roof, there are two tools: a reinspection and a brittle test.

Reinspection
If your claim is denied and there is more damage on the roof than the decision reflects, the next step can be asking your insurance company for a reinspection. We recommend it only when we disagree with the adjuster and believe the damage is there.
A reinspection is a lot of work. We get on the roof, mark the damage slope by slope, photograph every hail hit and damaged part, and prepare the package for the reinspection. Because of that work, a reinspection package has its own cost, paid by the homeowner, and it is not covered by the contingency agreement. Your Roofing Specialist tells you the cost before we start.
The brittle test
Sometimes the insurance company approves a repair, but the roof cannot be repaired because the shingles are degraded: too old, too brittle, not good enough to take new shingles alongside them. In that case we perform a brittle test on the shingles and record it with photos and video, to show that the shingles are not repairable. With that proof, we ask for a full slope or the full roofing system to be approved.
If the claim stays denied
You can still fix the roof. You can pay for or finance the repair or replacement, with approved credit, along with siding, gutters and anything else the house needs. Call 501.441.2900 to talk it through.
General information, not insurance or legal advice. Your insurer decides coverage, and reinspection rules vary by insurer.
Reinspection questions
What is a roof reinspection?
A second inspection by the insurance company after a claim is denied or underpaid, requested when there is more damage on the roof than the first decision reflects. Patriot Roofing recommends one only when we disagree with the adjuster and believe there is enough damage.
Does a reinspection cost anything?
Yes. A reinspection package takes extensive work, so it has its own cost, paid by the homeowner. It is not covered by the contingency agreement, and we tell you the cost before we start.
What is a shingle brittle test?
A test that shows whether shingles can still be repaired. If old shingles crack or break when they are handled, a repair is not possible, and we record the test with photos and video so the insurer can see a full slope or full roof is needed.
What if my claim is denied and I still need a roof?
You can pay for or finance the repair or replacement yourself, with approved credit, including gutters and siding.
