Your attic floor is about the footprint of your top story: a one-story 2,000 square foot home has about 2,000 square feet of attic, and a two-story 3,000 square foot home has about 1,500. We size one Attic Breeze Gen 3, 35 watt fan for every 1,700 square feet of attic floor. The attic floor is about the footprint of your top story, so a two-story home has roughly half the attic of a one-story home with the same living area. Attic Breeze says most homes take one fan per 1,200 to 1,800 square feet of attic floor.

Do I need a new roof to add a solar fan?
No. We install solar attic fans on existing roofs. If you are replacing your roof, adding fans at the same time is the easiest way to do it.
Will a solar fan work if my attic has no soffit vents?
An exhaust fan needs fresh air coming in at the eaves to replace the air it pulls out. If your attic is short on intake vents, we will tell you and price that at your visit.
