Roofing Companies in Little Rock, AR: How to Compare Them
If you are looking for roofing companies in Little Rock, AR, you have more choices than almost anywhere in the state: Arkansas River Valley Roofing and Restoration, Big Rock KangaROOF, Natural State Restoration and Roofing and Riley Hays Roofing and Construction all list Little Rock offices on their Google profiles, Garcia and Son Roofing and Gutters names Little Rock on its website, and more roofers work in the city from Maumelle, North Little Rock and Bryant. The fair way to compare them is on facts you can check yourself: each company's Google rating and review count, its Arkansas registration on the state lookup, what it says it does on its own website, and the written answers it gives to the hiring questions further down this page.
A plain disclosure before anything else: this post is written by Patriot Roofing and Restoration, a roofing company based in Maumelle, about 11 miles from downtown Little Rock, and we are one of the companies in the table. We have not ranked anyone, including ourselves. The table is in alphabetical order, it uses only published facts with the date we read them, and it says nothing about any company that the company or its Google profile does not say itself. Use it as a starting list, then check each roofer on your own.

Years in business are shown only where the company publishes them on the pages we read. A missing year says nothing about how long a company has been working; ask them.
Two things are deliberately missing. We have not listed Arkansas registration numbers for other companies, because you should look those up yourself on the state's own site rather than take a competitor's word for them (how to do that is in the checklist below). And Little Rock has dozens of roofers with Google profiles, many with strong ratings; we listed only companies whose services we could read on their own websites before this was published. A company missing from this table is not a judgment about it.
What is worth knowing about roofs in Little Rock
A few local facts change how a roof job in Little Rock should go:
- The city does not require a permit for a roof replacement, but two areas have their own rules. Little Rock's fee ordinance (Ord. 22,204) lists residential roofs among the work that does not need a building permit. The MacArthur Park Historic District is the one Little Rock district where the city reviews exterior alterations, and owners there need approval before changing a structure's exterior. Re-roofing is routinely approved: the city's Historic District Commission agenda for July 6, 2026 reports Certificates of Compliance issued in June 2026 to reroof homes in the district with architectural shingles. Near the State Capitol and the Governor's Mansion, the Capitol Zoning District Commission, created by Act 267 of 1975, requires its own permit before exterior alterations; its rules treat a like-kind roof replacement as a minor change that staff can approve. If your home is in either area, ask every roofer whether they have been through that process and who files the paperwork.
- Many roofs sit on older homes. Half of Little Rock's homes were built in 1978 or earlier (Census ACS 2020 to 2024), and about 77% before 2000. Older homes often have more than one layer of shingles, decking that has been patched over the years and attic ventilation that predates modern codes, so ask how each roofer prices rotted wood and whether the bid includes a full tear-off. In Arkansas we plan on 15 to 20 years for an asphalt shingle roof, because manufacturer ratings assume milder weather than ours.
- Wind, tornadoes and hail are a real test here. The EF3 tornado of March 31, 2023 began in Little Rock and cut a 34-mile path through areas including Chenal Parkway, I-430 at Rodney Parham and near Cammack Village, with peak winds of 165 mph and more than 2,700 structures impacted, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock. On May 8, 2024, half-dollar size hail fell in the Kensington Place neighborhood of southwest Little Rock, and on April 5, 2025, straight-line winds near 80 mph hit parts of the city, including southwest Little Rock. Ask each roofer how they nail and seal the eaves, rakes and ridge, and what the shingle's wind and impact ratings require.

Questions to ask every roofer before you sign
These are the questions we would want answered in writing if we were hiring a roofer for our own homes. Ask each company on your list, including us, and compare the answers side by side. Our own answers are in italics, taken straight from our published guarantees and prices.
- Is the company registered with the state? In Arkansas a residential roofer holds a Residential Roofing Registration from the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board. Look the company up on the board's "Find A Licensed Contractor" page at labor.arkansas.gov, and read our guide on verifying a roofer's license and insurance. Ours is Residential Roofing Registration RR0503170227.
- Does the roofer guarantee the roof will not leak, or only "workmanship"? A workmanship warranty rarely says what counts as workmanship. Everyone knows when a roof leaks. Ours is the Patriot Leak Free Guarantee: 15 years on Armor, 10 on Guardian, 5 on Defender and 2 on Shield, and the 365-Day Patriot Leak Free Guarantee once all recommended repairs are done.
- What happens if you are not satisfied? Our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on a roof replacement: if you are not 100% satisfied with your roofing system, we will remove it and return 100% of your investment.
- Is it in writing that the materials quoted are the materials installed? Our Apples-to-Apples Guarantee: if you later find a truly comparable roof system for less, we pay you the difference plus a $50 bonus.
- Is there a third-party guarantee, from someone other than the roofer? Every Patriot Roofing and Restoration job carries the $30,000 Directorii Guarantee, and we register every job with Directorii so you do not have to. The $250,000 Directorii Guarantee is included with our Guardian and Armor packages.
- Will you get a written inspection report with photos? A free storm or replacement inspection comes with our 21-Point Roof Inspection Report with photos.
- How many photos of the job will you get, and how? A few pictures in a PDF is very different from every photo. On a full replacement we take 250 to 1,000 photos, and you get a link to every one of them to view, download and keep.
- Is there a yearly checkup with photos you can reach later? In a city that has seen a 165 mph tornado, hail and 80 mph winds in the last few years, a dated photo record from year to year can help when an insurer asks how old a piece of damage is, although no roofer can promise how a claim turns out. Our Patriot Care Club is $14.95 a month and includes an annual 21-Point Roof Checkup and Attic Analysis with photos.
- Are repair prices published? Ours are on our roof repair prices page. A repair visit is $79.99 for non-members and has no service fee for Care Club members.

Frequently asked questions
Is this list ranked?
No. Companies are listed A to Z, and we did not put ourselves first or call anyone the best. We wrote this post and are one of the companies in it.
Where do the ratings come from?
From Google Maps business data, read through Local Falcon in a scan dated Oct 29, 2026. Ratings move every week, so check the live Google profile before you decide.
Do I need a permit for a new roof in Little Rock?
No. Little Rock lists residential roofs among the work that does not need a building permit. Homes in the MacArthur Park Historic District or the Capitol Zoning District need that body's approval for exterior work first, so ask your roofer who handles it.
How do I check that a roofer is registered in Arkansas?
Search the company on the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board's "Find A Licensed Contractor" page at labor.arkansas.gov. A residential roofer should hold a Residential Roofing Registration.

We re-check every fact on it at least every 90 days. If your company serves Little Rock and a fact here is out of date, contact us and we will correct it.
Want our written answers for your home?
