Searcy roofs: a county seat with a college and a big rental share
Searcy has been the seat of White County since 1835 and sits on the Little Red River near the middle of the county. It is also home to Harding University, which the Encyclopedia of Arkansas lists with 5,348 students.
Census figures for 2020 to 2024 put Searcy's owner-occupied rate at 53.6 percent, which means close to half of the city's occupied homes are rented. If you own a rental in Searcy, the roof is your decision even when you do not live under it. Our free 30-minute storm or replacement inspection comes with a 21-Point Roof Inspection Report with photos, so you can see what we found without climbing a ladder yourself.

Roofing questions from Searcy
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Searcy?
Yes. Searcy requires a roofing permit for a roof replacement, and we pull it as part of the job.
We heard hail in the middle of a January night in Searcy. Is that something to check?
It happens here. The National Weather Service logged ping-pong-ball size hail, 1.50 inches, about 1.7 miles east of Searcy at 12:28 a.m. on January 12, 2024. Hail that falls while you are asleep is easy to miss, so if you are not sure what your roof took, a free 30-minute storm or replacement inspection will tell you.
Did the August 26, 2026 storm drop hail in Searcy?
Storm report compilations list quarter size hail in Searcy on the afternoon of August 26, 2026, and ping pong ball size hail near Searcy Municipal Airport, while NWS Little Rock had a severe thunderstorm warning out for central White County. If your roof has not been checked since, a free 30-minute storm inspection will show whether it took damage.
Did the 2017 Kensett tornado reach Searcy?
The tornadoes of February 28, 2017 struck Higginson and Kensett, just east of Searcy, rather than the city itself. Officials estimated about 60 homes were damaged in those communities. If your home is on the east side and the roof is from before 2017, an inspection is a good idea.
