Which Roof Type Is Right for Your Home?
Most Central Arkansas homes end up on asphalt shingle or on standing metal panel, and the honest answer for your house depends on three things: how much hail exposure you have, how long you plan to stay, and what your insurance carrier rewards. This page lays out what we install, what each type actually does in this climate, and where it fits.
We do not sell one system to everybody. If a repair is the right call, we will tell you that instead.
Asphalt Shingle Roofing
Asphalt shingle is the most common roof in Central Arkansas, and for good reason: it handles our heat and rain well, it comes in every color and profile, and it is the most affordable way to get a complete, properly built roofing system.
Architectural shingle. Our starting point on every home, in our Shield package. Dimensional, far more wind and hail resistant than three-tab, and only slightly more expensive. We do not install three-tab shingles at all.
Class 3 impact-rated shingle. Tested under UL 2218 against a 1-3/4 inch steel ball. This is our Defender package.
Class 4 impact-rated shingle. The highest impact rating a shingle can earn under UL 2218, tested at 2 inches. This is our Guardian package, and it may qualify you for a homeowners insurance discount, though that varies by insurer and you should confirm it with your agent.
We are an Atlas PRO+ contractor at the Gold level and install Atlas Signature Select systems, and we also install shingles from other major manufacturers including Owens Corning and Malarkey.
Metal Roofing
We install 26-gauge PBR steel panel roofs, which is our Armor package, and standing seam systems on pitched commercial work. Metal is Class A fire rated, handles hail up to about 2 inches, and commonly lasts 40 to 70 years, against roughly 15 to 25 years for a standard architectural shingle in this climate.
It costs more up front and it is the lowest lifetime cost of anything we install. It suits a home you plan to keep, and it is the right answer for a homeowner who is tired of replacing a roof after every bad hail season.
A metal roof is a different system, not just a different covering: it needs high-temp ice and water shield, metal-rated pipe flashings, a metal-compatible ventilation plan and color-matched drip edge and ridge. We build all of that in.

Commercial and Low-Slope Roofing Systems
Our focus is homes, but we do commercial work, and we install the flat and low-slope systems those buildings need.
TPO. A single-ply membrane with a reflective surface, which helps with cooling load on a flat roof in an Arkansas summer.
EPDM. A rubber membrane, durable and weather resistant, with a long track record on flat roofs.
Modified bitumen. Flexible, strongly waterproof, and a good fit for flat roofs that see foot traffic.
